Quick Chocolate Sheet Cake - Barbara Lithgow Chase

Sift in large bowl and set aside:

2 cups sugar
2 cups flour

In a pan, bring to a rapid boil:

2 sticks margarine
1 cup water
¼ cup cocoa

Pour immediately over sugar and flour. Beat well. Add:

2 eggs
½ cup buttermilk or sour milk
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat well. Pour onto large cookie sheet (greased but not floured). Bake 15 minutes at 400 degrees.

Icing—Prepare while cake is baking.

Bring to a boil:

1 stick of margarine
6 T milk
¼ cup cocoa

Pour immediately over:

1 box of powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts

Beat well and pour over cake while cake is still hot.
