1/2 c. butter or margarine
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. milk
1/4 tsp. almond extract (optional)
Soften the butter or margarine. Grease and flour a 9.x13 pan and preheat oven to 350. Combine dry ingredients and set aside. Crack eggs into a small bowl and beat lightly with a fork. Combine 3/4 c. milk, butter, eggs, and almond extract with dry ingredients and beat 30 seconds on low speed. Then beat mixture on medium speed for 2 minutes. Add remaining 3/4 c. milk and beat on low speed for 30 seconds, then beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until done. Cool cake completely before frosting
