Super Smooth Chocolate Sauce - Marian Danielson Pearson

Recipe originally from Ruth Hofer

1 can evaporated milk
1 cup sugar
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine milk, sugar, chocolate and salt and cook over medium heat until smooth and fairly thick, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Serve hot or cold over ice cream. To heat, place over hot water.
