Fresh Fruit Cobbler - Marian Danielson Pearson

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Arrange 3 cups cut-up fruit (peaches, cherries, raspberries, apples) in pan. Sprinkle with: 2/3 cup sugar, 2 T flour (For apples, use 1 ¼ cups sugar, 3 T flour, 1/3 cup water). Dot with 2 T butter. Sift together 1 cup flour, 2 T sugar, 1 ½ tsp. baking powder and ½ tsp. salt. Cut in 1/3 cup shortening. Add 4 T milk and 1 egg. Stir lightly. Drop on fruit and bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or more until golden brown and fruit is done.
