Chocolate Cake - Darlene Hofer Pearson

1 cup sugar
1 ½ cups flour
1 tsp. soda
2 T cocoa
1 egg
1 cup sour milk
6 T melted butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Add soda to one half of the sour milk. Stir and let stand for a few minutes. Put dry ingredients in large mixing bowl and stir. Add egg and sour milk and mix well with spoon. Do not use an electric mixer. Add melted butter and vanilla and stir until well mixed. Pour into greased and floured 9 in. baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
