Quick Coffee Cake - Ruth Mallory Lithgow

Mix together:
¾ cup sugar
¼ cup shortening
1 egg

Stir in:
½ cup milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1 ½ cups flour
½ tsp. salt

Spread half of this batter in a 9 inch square pan. Add half of the streusel mixture which is 2 T melted butter, ½ cup brown sugar, 1 tsp. flour, ½ tsp. cinnamon, ¼ cup chopped nuts. Add the rest of the cake batter and then sprinkle the rest of the streusel mixture on top. Bake at 375 degrees for 25-35 minutes.
